Impact Internships Fund
Did you know that approximately 50% of UT Knoxville undergraduate students say they want a career that allows them to make a positive impact on society and the environment? (Universum 2012). The Center for Impact Careers created an Impact Internship Fund to provide financial support to mission-driven students that want to make a BIG IMPACT on the most pressing social, environmental and economic issues facing our community and world.
This fund helps students cover their financial obligations while completing the often unpaid and low stipend internships associated with these impact areas:
- Civic engagement and public policy
- Economic impact and business development
- Community and international development
- Education access and achievement
- Health access and awareness
- Environmental sustainability
- Energy and clean technology
Want to make a BIG IMPACT on the world and a UT student’s career goals? Your small contribution to the Impact Internship Fund will help subsidize a student’s housing, transportation, food, etc. while they are developing the professional skills, honing ethical leadership abilities, and working to better our communities. Your donation will help student interns create shared value and original ideas that will tackle poverty, education, healthcare, energy, and sustainable economics.
How does my donation help?
Your donation will provide scholarships to students pursuing internships in social impact areas. Students will apply and chosen for these $500, $1000, and $2000 scholarships based on the financial cost of the internship and financial need of the student interning at a social impact organization.
How many students are affected by my donation?
Student scholarships will be provided according to the interest in Social Impact Internships and availability of funds. The Center for Impact Careers hopes to provide scholarships to at least 5 students this year.
